Profile

Prior to joining International College, Siam University, Dr. Sumaia Farzana worked in the financial sector in Bangladesh in Retail Banking for over 6 years. She earned her Bachelor of Social Science from Bangladesh, MBA in Marketing from Southeast University (Bangladesh), MBA (International Program) in Human Resource Management from Siam University (Thailand), and PhD in Management from International College, NIDA Thailand.

With 10 years of experience in Higher Education Institutes (HEIs), Dr. Sumaia has developed extensive expertise in quantitative analysis, human resource management, BMC and project management, financial management, and consumer behavior analysis, research, and academic services. Her teaching philosophy focuses on student-centered and lifelong learning, integrating practical knowledge with theoretical concepts to enhance students’ critical thinking, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills. She is experienced in both online and face-to-face teaching methodologies, applying interactive and technology-enhanced approaches to create inclusive and supportive learning environments.

Dr. Sumaia has vast experience in curriculum design, course development, and program improvement to ensure that academic programs remain relevant, innovative, and aligned with industry needs. In addition to teaching, she is actively involved in quality assurance, including working with international academic quality frameworks such as AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance) and EdPEx (Education Criteria for Performance Excellence).

Her research is published in international academic journals and conferences, with main interests in social science research, international business, culture, leadership, and consumer and employee behavior.
